Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) is a safe and well-developed, research-based instructional approach that focuses the use of effective interventions to produce meaningful changes in human behavior. It is a methodology that incorporates basic behavioral principles such as, positive reinforcement; prompting; shaping and generalization, that directly impacts the child's development of language, socialization, and reduction of maladaptive behaviors. This methodology uses techniques such as discrete trial training and systematic data collection to guide treatment planning based upon specialized assessments and objective data. ABA uses treatments that can produce practical and significant changes in your child’s behavior and skills, such as improved communication, socialization, and safety.
Many young children who receive early intensive behavior intervention are able to develop skills that allow them to independently participate across home and school settings. New Day ABA works in conjunction with each family, other therapists, and within the school setting to ensure consistency in social and behavioral interventions across settings. Families benefit from learning strategies for facilitating their child's use of newly acquired skills as well as for reducing challenging behaviors.
We provide on-going parent training to assist our families in carrying out the important behavioral strategies that we are utilizing with their child within the home setting. Parents are an integral and valuable part of their child’s ABA programming, and the New Day ABA staff are there to assist them in implementing these techniques across environments.
At New Day ABA, we service students of all ages. However, researchers agree that the earlier that you begin ABA interventions , the more positive the outcome for the child.
